Oliver Sutherland (b. 1985 Cornwall, UK) is a Bristol based artist whose practice includes moving image, experimental sound and interactive and generative art. Using broken narratives, Oliver explores our relationship with technology, particularly the boundaries between the user and device. He has previously worked with Falmouth University, Centroid Motion Capture Studios, focusing on the physical and performative properties of live simulation technologies and motion capture.

More recently Oliver has created a series of sound compositions and live performances that explore the role of machine learning systems in recording, creating new compositions that take reference from traditional English and Cornish folk songs.

Agynsow comprises of 2 improvised compositions, written and recorded in March 2023 using AI generated folk songs, convolution reverb recordings gathered from caves, mines and bronze-age settlements nearby and an MC303.
