Ralph Hoyte is a Bristol-based poet, writer and text-based artist who works with words in a variety of contexts: live, visually and sculpturally, across artforms and in new media.

In 2004, Ralph wrote 1831 RIOT!, the first ever located radio-play within an intelligent environment. 1831 RIOT! was commissioned as part of the Mobile Bristol research project and used the mscape software.

Ralph has received a Technolgy Strategy Board feasibility study to be resident in the studio and develop a new located audio piece.
