Roy Kareem is currently the Director of Bright Green Future, an environmental leadership programme for 16-19 year olds based at the Centre for Sustainable Energy in Bristol, that aims to greatly diversify those choosing professions that make a positive environmental impact. 

He is an alumni of the Black and Green Ambassadors for Bristol programme, the creator of the parklives podcast series, and is currently one of the hosts of the Rise Up breakfast show on Ujima FM, a community radio station for Bristol.

Roy is a qualified teacher and Forest School Leader and currently serves as a Trustee for the Bristol and Bath Park Foundation as well being on the board of Bristol City Council's One City Environment Board.

Roy's pathway has traversed a multitude of sectors including: stints as a production coordinator at MTV Networks; a DJ in some (s)wanky London bars; a shark researcher with the Save Our Seas Foundation; and a primary school teacher in Barcelona.

Roy is a trained life coach, with a specific focus on working with young environmental activists from around the world.
