Tobit Emmens
Tobit has joined the PMStudio as Studio resident to develop an app called ‘Always Listening’. As well as this, he is exploring the wider possibilities of reflexive technologies in clinical and non-clinical settings. Tobit splits his time between his Devon based NHS based research and innovation management roll and his Always Listening residency.
As a senior manager for research and innovation in the NHS, Tobit uses an ethnographic approach, or stories, that is the lived experience as a foundation for research and innovation work. Tobit is particularly interested in technology in the areas of self-harm, suicide prevention and dementia. Tobit also enjoys running ridiculously long distances and is chief den maker for his three children. Tobit is also a University Fellow at the University of Exeter Medical School. He received his MSc (a meta-narrative review on suicide and media) from the University of Exeter (Peninsula Medical School) in 2010.
