Wormwood - A Nuclear Plant

Wormwood - A Nuclear Plant

part of Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event ended on 19 January 2024

Oma Keeling and Morgan Jennings present their research project 'Wormwood - A Nuclear Plant', which explores nuclear history in the North of England, nuclear radiation and illness in popular video games and science fiction.

What's the difference between a fictional Northern Nuclear disaster, and the imagined video game that follows it? What are the overlapping national, global and historic violences?

Oma is an artist, writer and the editor of Container Magazine in Bristol. Morgan Jennings is a writer and full time 'horror disaster' living in the North-West. Their interests overlap in sci-fi horror, campy video games and haunted landscapes.
