Psychedelic Pattern Making Workshop

Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation

Workshop

Please note: This event took place in Aug 2018

Join us for a hands on workshop for families as we get inspired by the imaginative imagery and pattern in our very special 50th anniversary screening of The Beatles’ movie Yellow Submarine. We’ll be honouring this colourful riot of a movie by making our very own psychedelic pattern creations, with collage and colour – and tonnes of experimentation.

We’ll provide all the materials and artist, muralist and workshop facilitator Cai Burton - whose artwork is inspired by a love of patterns and adventure - will be on hand to guide you through the activities on the day - all you need to do is turn up and get involved!

Singer-songwriter, blogger and video maker Ella Brandt of Rife Magazine will also be helping out - talk to her about what it's like to make music and films of your own.

This free drop-in activity is on Fri 24 Aug from 10:00 - 12:00 and is most suited to ages 6-11 and their families, though we encourage people of all ages to come along.

Cai Burton is a young illustrator based in Bristol working with Rising Arts and is an alumni from our Rife Magazine alumni.

Ella Brandt is currently part of Rife Magazine's current team of in house journalists writing about music, lifestyle and self care.
