Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation

Workshop

Please note: This event took place in Aug 2018

To celebrate the breathtakingly illustrated Song of The Sea from Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon which screens as part of our Anim18 season, we’re inviting families to a morning of making mini stop motion animations in our drop-in workshop.

You'll be able to design a character and a backdrop, then create a ten frame stop motion animation, using plastercine, craft materials and found objects from the beach.

This free drop-in activity on Fri 31 Aug from 10:00 - 12:00 is most suited to ages 6-11 and their families, though we encourage people of all ages to come along. We’ll provide all the materials and equipment you need. This workshop will be facilitated by Sookie Lalla, a Bristol based animator specialising in character design, who is also a resident at our Pervasive Media Studio.

Sookie will be helped by local animator Helena Houghton -who specialises in puppet making.

Part of Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation. For activities and events across the UK see anim18.co.uk.

Led by Film Hub Wales and Chapter (Cardiff) working with the BFI Film Audience Network and project partners, with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from The National Lottery.
