Japanese animation master Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children, Summer Wars) returns with this charming tale about a little boy and his family, whose lives are turned upside down after the arrival of his baby sister Mirai.
Four-year-old Kun lives a life of peace, play, and happiness with his parents and their fluffy-eared dog Yukko in their beautiful home – that is, until his new baby sister arrives. Feeling jealous and abandoned by his parents, Kun runs away and stumbles across a magical garden, where he meets past, present and future members of his family who all have something valuable to teach him – including a grown-up baby Mirai.
Inspired by his own experiences as a father, Hosada has created a heart-swelling and intimate exploration of a toddler's emotional life with striking animation and a featherweight score that will appeal to parents, children, and everyone in between.
