Guangzhou, China, is one of several cities twinned with Bristol. Both have long trading histories. Both sit within hi-tech clusters. But their differences are pronounced. To begin with, Bristol's population is about 450,000 whereas Guangzhou's is 14 million (nearly twice that of London).  Pervasive Media Studio resident Tim Kindberg, who has lived in Bristol for many years, recently spent two months teaching at South China University of Technology in Guangzhou. He reflects on what he found there, particularly in terms of city life and digital technology, and contrasts these two different but linked worlds.

The talk will last for about 30 mins, followed by plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Members of Bristol's Chinese community are particularly welcome.
