She joined the Pervasive Media Studio last year, and is now studying for an MA in Computational Arts at Goldsmiths. Her practice focuses on creative computing in charity and educational settings. She is particularly interested building interactive systems for public spaces to encourage different ways of learning or communication.
She is currently working on a project called Offline Networks. Located in the central point of the Calais Refugee camp, it explores the possibility of creating networks in places with limited infrastructure. Through self-hosting a website served on a solar powered computer, she looks at how data can be stored and distributed, even in places with no buildings or power, to distribute crucial information to people living in unstable situations. She draws on principles of permacomputing and disaster informatics to inform her practice, which she will be speaking about in her Friday Lunchtime Talk.
Join us online on YouTube Live, or in the building on Friday 19th June at 13:00 for the talk and to take part in the Q and A discussion afterwards.
