Building A Martian House
A collaboration with scientists, architects, and the artists' local community to design and plan the build of a functional Martian house.Reuben is a tall man making short films.
He works as a freelance Director with long-time collaborator Jamie (R+J). Together they produce and direct animation, branded content, commercials, documentaries, promos and live event visuals.
Reuben's award-winning work has been featured in film festivals internationally and he has experience working with esteemed clients such as BBC, Channel 4, Nike, The Guardian & the United Nations.
Eclectic and diverse, full of energy and craft, each of his projects are kickstarted by creative conversations with the commissioner to understand and research the subject. Reuben says his best work is thanks to brilliant collaborations – working with ambitious clients and a well-honed network of talent from illustrators to camera crew and copywriters to composers.
Highly skilled at After Effects, Reuben also enjoys animating across a range of mediums from virtual reality (VR) painting to hand-drawn scanned textural work. Thanks to his background in animation and design – an extreme attention to detail, framing and symmetry, plus a mixed-media, colourful aesthetic are repeated features of his film work too.
