George's interests are wide and varied although they generally revolve around making beautiful things with technology. He was awarded a Graduate Residency at the Studio in 2008 along with Helen Bentley.
Helen Bentley
Helen is a Cross Media Producer and Events Co-ordinator, who in her own words, is happiest when getting things done. She was awarded a Graduate Residency at the Studio in 2008 along with George Crabtree.George and Helen are recent graduates from the University of West of England where they completed a Media Practice degree both specialising in interactive media. George and Helen's work focuses on the development of applications that experiment with the formation of narrative, utilising the potential of the internet as a vast library of knowledge, opinion and culture they re-represent findings in the public space.
During their time at the studio they plan to prototype ideas to explore tactile interfaces, wearable computing and location based media, and develop one major project that they will see through to a finished piece.
The main project will be projection-based and will utilise user-generated content (a theme that has been present throughout their past collaborative work), motion graphics and text data. Their time at the studio will begin with a research period to develop a learning brief.
