Feeling Food

A day of exploring, experimenting and rapid prototyping with food, taste and mid-air touch

David is a sculptor based in Newcastle upon Tyne, and makes work that investigates our relationships with technology and our notions of the future. He particularly enjoys cooking, eating and talking about food and so culinary themes pop up in his artwork on a regular basis.

He has previously created a fictional nomadic tribe of midge-catchers with Allenheads Contemporary Arts, collaborated with an industrial robotics engineer to create Luddite wood carvings and walled up the entrances to galleries with bread.

Whilst resident at the Studio, David will be working alongside Tarim and other researchers to present a future-archaeology of food and food technology.
