In this talk, using case studies from their work on re-wilding their audiences, Dr. Rosie Poebright will uncover a messy reality which is more feral, that had to be felt out in the dark and grasped for by rusty instincts.

Dr Rosie Poebright
Rosie is a story experience architect, digital artist and real-world game designer with a Doctorate in Audience Participation, who has designed pervasive games and playful happenings since 2007.The case for embodied storytelling in the age of screen addiction. For nearly 20 years, Dr Rosie Poebright has developed a career designing, writing and directing interactive stories. They manifest stories into the world by weaving threads from street games, theatre, audio, embodied cognition and creative tech into material experiences that move their audiences. Their research has circled applying that which makes us feel alive in multiple storytelling contexts, from immersive arts to Heritage Industries.
Rosie makes the case: at a time when our attention is battery farmed by screens and extracted through addiction, how might we make stories which foreground aliveness and empower action? In this talk, using case studies from their work which dreamt of rewilding their audiences, Rosie will uncover a messy reality which is more feral, that had to be felt out in the dark and grasped for by rusty instincts.
Join us online on YouTube Live, or in the building on Friday 20th November at 13:00 for the talk and to take part in the Q&A discussion afterwards.
