Joe is a composer, performing musician & sound artist. He's a nerd for nature and his work focuses on using interactive, tactile and musical ways to explore environmental issues from a place of story, psychology and empathy.Sumaya Hassan-Murphy
Sumaya is a Bristol based singer/songwriter, instrumentalist and producer. They are a graduate from the BFI Film Academy, and were part of Rife Magazine’s ninth cohort of in-house content creators. They write predominantly, but also dabble in filmmaking, illustration and photography. They hope that others can find company and comfort through their exploration of identity and creative expression, to encourage compassion and conversation.We Don't Bite was a research and design project which explores early stage thinking towards how the Pervasive Media Studio can become a more equitable space for young people. The project was carried out by Joe Hill and Sumaya Hassan-Murphy, independently of the diversity and inclusion research and thinking already taking place within the studio.
The project ran during the first few months of 2022, and involved a mixture of conversations and workshops with young people and organisations.
