For a lot of creatives, work isn’t just about making a living. It can also be a way for us to lift up and empower our communities. Leadership is right at the heart of this, and learning how to lead as a creative can make your practice even more meaningful.

Leadership isn’t always something we learn as creatives though. Sometimes it feels like we’re working on projects without much connection to a wider community around us. The pressure of ‘the grind’ means we can’t always just make work that speaks to the issues we care about, when we’ve got bills to pay as well.

In this session, Will Taylor will help you explore how to bring leadership and community into your work. You’ll be encouraged to think about what leadership, authenticity, community and empowerment mean to you and have a chance to grow your own creative community by meeting some of your peers. Will’s work is focussed on making the creative world more accessible and representative, so you’ll be in expert hands throughout.

In this session Will is going to:

  • Help you find your own definitions of leadership, authenticity, community and empowerment
  • Explore how those definitions can be put into practice in your work
  • Give you the chance to make new connections
