Horror veteran director Ti West (The House Of The Devil, The Innkeepers) returns with an ode to 1970s grindhouse cinema, a genre-bending story of sex and violence that gives a new definition to 'video nasty'.
Set in 1979, the gruesome thriller follows a group of young filmmakers from the big city who have set out to make a porno in rural Texas. The film's producer (Martin Henderson) has found them the perfect location - a barn rented out from an elderly farming couple. But their hosts haven't been fully informed that the film may contain adult material. Which makes them angry. Very angry.
A gleeful combination of slasher thrills and vintage aesthetics with an exhilarating twist on genre expectations, this is one to behold - and if you love it? The prequel is already in the works…
