In this Lunchtime Talk, Rob Hopkins, co-founder of Transition Network, and musician Mr Kit present on Field Recordings From The Future, a sonic journey into a world of climate resilience.
Together, they’ll share field recordings, music, and tales from incredible initiatives and places all across 2030, and introduce the time portal they’re building to bring more and more people into this beautiful future. Through sound, story, and imagination, they invite us to explore a carbon-neutral world and help bring that future into the here and now.
About Rob Hopkins
Rob Hopkins is the co-founder of Transition Network and of Transition Town Totnes, and author of several books including ‘The Transition Handbook‘ and most recently, ‘From What Is to What If: unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want’. He is an Ashoka Fellow, has spoken at TED Global and at several TEDx events, and appears in the French film phenomenon ‘Demain’. He holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth as well as 2 Honoris Causas, and hosted 100 episodes of his podcast ‘From What If to What Next’.
About Mr Kit
Mr Kit is a borderless musician, who composes and plays in all areas of the music world, from improvisation to pop. His ever evolving back catalogue includes releases on Important Records (Issa), A Strangely Isolated Place (Trẻ em) and Palaver Press (Falling Into Place). He's had the pleasure of bringing improvisation and experimentation as a solo artist supporting Laraaji, Islam Chipsy, Janek Schaefer and Jeremy Young at Cafe Oto, Arnolfini & The Cube, and as part of the duo DJxKWF to audiences in various underground music spaces across the UK.
