In this Lunchtime Talk, creative technologists and self proclaimed synth nerds Ant and Pete will share the influences that led them to create a musical fidget toy - Playtonik. They will explore how we play, and how the virtual world lets us build the impossible - from the empowering interactions and powerful technology of video games, to some weird and wonderful musical instruments and contraptions.

About the artists

Ant Nasce and Pete Nancollis are new residents of Pervasive Media Studio and partners in 5of12, a spatial design studio. They explore new ways of interacting with the virtual world and creating electronic music.

Pricing

Tickets to Lunchtime Talks in the Pervasive Media Studio are free but must be booked in advance as capacity is limited. If you do not arrive by 13:00 we will release your ticket. Lunchtime Talks are also streamed live on YouTube, so you can tune in wherever you are.

Access

Lunchtime Talks take place in the Pervasive Media Studio Event Space. To access the Studio, please go to the Box Office entrance and go upstairs to the Café & Bar. Walk across the Café & Bar, turn right and walk towards the double doors. Go through into the corridor and walk all the way down until you reach the Studio. A member of staff will sign you in, and check your ticket, if you have booked.

The Studio is wheelchair accessible, and the events space has a hearing loop. The last talk of every month is BSL interpreted.
