Meeting The Moment
A one day event for the culture sector on speaking up in troubled times
At a time when the world needs people to stand up and be counted, the funding environment, charity regulation, social media and general exhaustion can prevent cultural organisations from participating in change. Communities need us to be able to create brave art, to hold difficult conversations, to engage with difference and promote nuance. We also need to do this in a way which centres equity and looks after staff.
Who is Meeting The Moment for?
Meeting The Moment is for Senior Leaders and Trustees from organisations that want to participate in speaking up or making change but feel nervous or unsure about doing so.
What will the programme include?
The emphasis of the day be on sharing, nourishing and empowering each other.
The programme will cover the fears we have about speaking out, how to maintain our personal resilience and support staff, what we can and cannot do in terms of charity law, how to show up for communities being targeted and how to manage a communications pile-on in a crisis. The full programme will be released at the end of September.
