As traditionally ‘male’ and ‘female’ roles rapidly change in society, are we heading for a future where gender no longer matters?

Using a mixed reality headset that merges real and virtual worlds, we invite you to interact with a genderqueer wardrobe where the possibilities of gender are endless.

Every item in the wardrobe tells a story that entices you to touch, explore and play. You’ll hear how nonbinary people combine or reject traditional gender expectations through everyday expressions in clothing or cosmetics.

After interacting with the wardrobe, we invite you to discuss where you think our definitions of gender are heading.

This is an active prototype of an interactive, immersive media project from Rob Eagle, a PhD research student at the University of the West of England.
