A melancholic yet heartfelt story of the former singer of pop band Black Lace and his journey on the road with his aging mother and his partner, as he aims for a comeback.

A former pop star, Dene Michael continues to tour small venues around the UK, singing 'Agadoo', his band Black Lace’s breakout hit from the 1980s. Once a party anthem, the song still moves people's hearts and bodies, even if Black Lace’s glory days lie in the past.

Rather than focusing on that moment in the spotlight, the film takes the form of a road movie, following Michael’s daily struggles as he performs, meets fans and dreams of a comeback. Travelling with his mother and partner, the film highlights the fleeting nature of fame, and the ever-changing landscape of British society and cultural tastes.

Above all, Michael's charm and affability shine through, resulting in an entertaining, and ultimately touching, life drama.
