This October, enter the world of Menelik Shabazz (1954-2021), a pioneer of Black British filmmaking.
In this special season – presented in partnership with Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds, working with Shabazz's daughter, Khemi – we'll be sharing some of the filmmakers' most iconic works, including his groundbreaking feature Burning an Illusion, as well as a rare screening of his radical sci-fi documentary, Time and Judgement.
Join us as we explore the interplay of love, resistance, and Black identity, as seen through Shabazz's visionary lens.
