Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event took place in Jan 2020

We're delighted to be joined by Charlotte Bradley from the 3A Institute based at Australian National University. She will be discussing her research and the usefulness of cybernetics in the development of immersive experiences.

Charlotte will be talking us through the mission of the 3Ai, the role of the arts in developing a new branch of engineering as well as sharing her research-in-progress on the usefulness of cybernetics in analysing and developing immersive theatre experiences and other artistic systems.

A cybernetic approach encourages us to conceive of a performance as a complex and purposive system, driven towards its goal by the feedback loops that emerge between its various parts - including performers, audience, technology and the environment. Charlotte is in the UK to observe and participate in the Audiences of the Future Project.

Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.
