Deaf Conversations about Cinema: Swan Song

Queer Vision 2022

Event

Please note: This event took place in June 2022

Join us at the 18:00 screening of Swan Song on Mon 27 June which will feature Descriptive Subtitles and an introduction from Daryn Carter MBE, Director of Bristol Pride. This will be followed at 19:45 by a post-screening discussion in the Café & Bar with Daryn. The evening will be hosted by Deaf artist, performer and filmmaker David Ellington and will feature BSL interpretation throughout.

An outrageously entertaining and unexpectedly tender comedy, by writer/director Todd Stephens (Edge of Seventeen) about rediscovering one's sparkle, and looking gorgeous while doing so. When retired hair stylist Pat Pitsenbarger (Udo Kier) gets word that a former client’s dying wish was for him to style her final hairdo, he sets out on a journey to collect the beauty supplies necessary for the job, embarking on an odyssey across town to confront the ghosts of his past.

Please join us in the Café/Bar for an informal discussion after the screening, which will include BSL interpretation. You’ll receive 10% off drinks with your cinema ticket – so grab a glass and let us know your thoughts about Swan Song.
