David Cronenberg offers a retro-future slice of body horror and twisted descent into madness in the striking Crimes of the Future - set in a world where the human species have adapted their biological makeup to a new synthetic environment.

Refusing to offer up a single moment of lightness, Cronenberg returns to his body horror roots in his depiction of an eerie future world in which pain is the ultimate pleasure and everyone is beginning to divine that they are on the brink of a post-human evolutionary stage.
