Motorbikes, fast cars, punch-ups and 80's music. Set on the streets of 1980’s Bristol, The Fence is a retro flick based on a short film of the same name that follows a council estate kid out to settle a score with a gang of local thieves.
18 year-old Steven (David Perkins) from the Hartcliffe council estate has his motorcycle stolen on the very day he brings it home. He seeks the help of his wayward friends and notorious older brother to track it down before it’s gone forever.
Inspired by his own dad's upbringing on the infamous estate, director William Stone's feature-length film examines the culture of Thatcher's Britain and the peer pressures and gruelling individual choices of youth. But it's also a film packed with heart, combining strong Bristolian characters and a fast paced narrative. Not to mention a lush 80's soundtrack!
