Set on a dreary Yorkshire farm run by the menacing Mrs Tweedy, a determined hen named Ginger (Julia Sawalha) has high ambitions of making a great escape to freedom. When a Yankee cockerel by the name of Rocky (Mel Gibson) crash lands into the chicken coops, Ginger hatches a new plan of escape - to learn how to fly!
With the release of its sequel later this year, we thought this was the best time to rediscover our local animation studio’s incredibly iconic ‘chick flick’ that went on to becoming the highest grossing stop-motion animated film in history.
