Babylon

Franco Rosso's incendiary Babylon had its world premiere at Cannes in 1980 but went unreleased in the U.S. for "being too controversial, and likely to incite racial tension"....

Raw and smouldering, the film follows a young dancehall DJ of Jamaican origin as he pursues his musical ambitions in South London, battling fiercely against the racism and xenophobia of employers, neighbours, police, and the National Front.

Hero: Inspired by the Extraordinary Life and Times of Mr. Ulric Cross

Following widespread critical acclaim and having opened a range of international festivals, director Frances Anne Solomon brings us the striking feature Hero.

In 1941 Ulric Cross, a young man from Trinidad, leaves his island home to seek his fortune. He survived the War as the RAF’s most decorated West Indian. Then, his life takes another course and he becomes part of the movement of history. Cross’ long life spanned key moments of the 20th Century including independence in Africa and the Caribbean.
