To Kill a War Machine
classified 15Since 2020, direct action group Palestine Action have documented their operations to dismantle the companies and infrastructure supplying weapons to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Independent filmmakers Rainbow Collective and poet Shareefa Energy have combined this cache of footage with narration by the group’s founders to trace the rapid growth of one of the world’s most effective and confrontational protest movements. It also reveals the backlash activists face from the British state and the arms companies operating on UK soil.
Featuring interviews with key players and an incredible soundtrack of underground beats from the heart of the movement, To Kill a War Machine is a unique, dramatic and deeply moving documentary which presents a compelling case for the effectiveness of direct action as a response to genocide, raising urgent questions about international complicity and the responsibilities of governments, including the UK.
Presented in partnership with the Easton Cowfolk Radical Film Club and Bristol Transformed.
This event is part of a UK-wide emergency response to ensure the public has a chance to collectively watch this vital, urgent film before a government ban on Palestine Action comes into force.
Please note: this documentary contains some upsetting scenes of civilian casualties in Gaza.
