Impulse: Playing with Reality Launch Event
Join us for the launch of Impulse: Playing with Reality, a multi-award-winning mixed reality experience by Anagram, narrated by Academy Award®-winner Tilda Swinton.
Impulse: Playing with Reality brings these stories to life, blending gameplay with first-hand storytelling to immerse audiences in minds that can be exhausting, exhilarating, chaotic, and inventive. At its heart are the four distinct stories of Leanne, Omar, Errol, and Tara, whose lived experiences with ADHD shaped the work.
ADHD is now being talked about more than ever, with diagnoses having risen nearly twenty times over the past two decades. For many adults, symptoms only become clear later in life.
October is ADHD Awareness Month, a moment to reflect on these experiences — and this event offers an opportunity to deepen understanding and highlight the creativity, challenges, and resilience of those who live with it.
Writer and director May Abdalla will host a conversation, reflecting on the making of Impulse, drawing on over 100 hours of interviews with people with ADHD and leading researchers. She will be joined in conversation by two of the lived-experience contributors to the piece, who will take part in the discussion.
This is an intimate chance to hear directly from the people behind the piece and explore how immersive storytelling can reveal new ways of understanding ADHD.
