In this Lunchtime Talk Raquel Meseguer Zafe, Founder of Unchartered Collective, shares some of the learnings from her project Proper Time, a model that was developed to make it more possible for chronically ill artists to make live performance without impacting their health.
She will talk about the creative tech the team evolved to explore absent and presence, recurring themes in her work to connect online disabled participant performers to live performance spaces in meaningful ways. Raquel will then reflect more broadly on working with the theme of time and how this intersects with climate justice questions.
About Raquel
Raquel’s work straddles theatre, dance, installation, performative conversations and photo-documentary. In 2016 she founded Unchartered Collective to create theatrical encounters that explore the lived experience of disability. Her project A Crash Course in Cloudspotting is an installation & performance, an app, and a digital archive. She is currently in the R&D phase of a new work entitled Proper Time. Raquel evolves creative access for disabled artists and audiences. Her practice includes creating rest friendly spaces, horizontality as a way of working and being together, and creative audio description.
