A playful, poignant love letter to cinema, Nouvelle Vague reimagines the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless in an exuberant exploration of the youthful rebellion and creative chaos that shaped the French New Wave.

Richard Linklater's film follows a sunglasses-clad Godard (Guillaume Marbeck) as he fights to realise his vision and upend cinematic convention—frustrating everyone around him in the process.

Faithful to history, the film captures the guerrilla-style production: improvised shooting, un-synced sound, and spontaneous camera work, alongside the creative tensions with crew and producers that nearly drove Jean Seberg (Zoey Deutch) off set.

Part of the European Award Season, coordinated by the European Film Academy.

Our cinema seats are 46cm wide, with wooden armrests on either side of each seat that can’t be moved.
