Join us for a special screening of Atoll K (Utopia), presented in a brand-new BFI restoration that returns Laurel & Hardy’s final feature to its original clarity and charm.

Atoll K finds the boys inheriting a yacht and a remote island, leading to chaos on the high seas and a utopian experiment gone hilariously wrong, a fittingly anarchic finale for cinema’s greatest comedy duo.

Before the film, festival director Chris Daniels and comedy historian Robert Ross will discuss the fascinating production history behind Atoll K — from its troubled shoot and multiple language versions to its place in the duo’s remarkable legacy.

Together they’ll explore how the film reflects both the poignancy and enduring brilliance of Stan and Ollie’s partnership.
