Inside Screen is an all-day event for people aged 16-25 looking to build their networks and pick up insights to help navigate the screen industries, whether that’s TV, film or immersive works.
With screenings of recent BFI NETWORK-funded short films, a line-up of very special guest speakers, and a chance to network with peers and industry professionals, Inside Screen is a day to get inspired, get connected and take that next step in your career. Here's the schedule of the day:
12:00 - 13:00 BFI NETWORK South West Shorts + Q&A, Cinema 1
A selection of the latest BFI NETWORK funded shorts made by filmmakers based in the South West. Followed by a Q&A with BFI NETWORK-funded filmmakers, including director Siôn Marshall-Waters. Hosted by BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Nadia Attia.
13:30 - 14:30 Meet the Producers: Panel, Waterside 3
What does a producer actually do, and how do you become one? Join local producers at different points in their careers as they break down the realities of producing in the screen industries. Bex Rose and Martha Redfern share firsthand experiences, lessons learned, and what the role really looks like behind the scenes. Hosted by Talent Development Producer Claire Simmons.
14:45 - 15:45 All Set West, Waterside 3
How do you connect with industry opportunities and production teams across the West of England? Join Jane Coulter, All Set West Programme Manager, and Jenny Duffy, All Set West Programme Coordinator, alongside current HETV trainees, as they break down the south west’s TV production landscape. The session offers practical insight into entry routes and advice for taking your first steps into a career in television.
16:00 - 17:30 Intro to Networking + Networking Session, Waterside 3
Dread the idea of networking? This workshop will help you build your confidence and learn effective networking techniques to develop relationships that will benefit you both personally and professionally. We will begin with a brief workshop and then dive straight into putting those skills intro practice. Join a whole host of screen industry professionals from producers, commissioners and DoPs to curators and marketeers at this networking session. This is a great chance to meet fellow creatives, pitch your ideas and pick the brains of regional industry professionals.
