Little Amélie
classified PGSubtitled screening
Based on Amélie Nothomb’s best-selling autobiographical novel, Little Amélie is a visually enchanting and gorgeously animated tale about curiosity, courage, and the healing power of human connection set in late 1960s Japan.
Born in Japan to Belgian parents, toddler Amélie sees the world as a place of endless wonder. With her beloved friend and companion Nishio-san by her side, every day becomes a new adventure, full of mystery, humour, and wonder. But on her third birthday, one unexpected moment changes her life forever, opening the door to emotions she never knew existed...
Darker themes, dealing with death and the lasting impact of war, are more suitable for older children, but the film will resonate with all - it reminds us to enjoy life despite all of its challenges, and find wonder in the present.
We'll be screening Little Amélie with English Dubbing (D) and in French with English Subtitles (S). Check the screenings below for further information.
