In this part-performance, part-Lunchtime Talk, Anastasia Dahl will draw on her practice in dance improvisation to explore relationships between the nervous system, creativity and agency. She’ll discuss how dance is a state of more-than-conscious, full body thinking that pushes against the edges of what the capitalist society deems valuable.
About Anastasia
Anastasia Dahl is a dance artist and sociologist from St. Petersburg, now based in Bristol. She works with the tools of improvisation, contemporary dance and somatic arts, often exploring the richness and beauty within the mundane. She runs movement workshops in gallery spaces and co-runs IsJazz — monthly meet-ups for creatives in the Pervasive Media Studio to explore the creative process playfully and collaboratively. Her current inspirations: bread, anatomy, movement in nature, and the ancient porousness between the sacred and mundane.
