The Misfits
classified PGJohn Huston’s anti-western The Misfits, Marilyn Monroe’s final film, returns to the big screen to mark the centenary of Monroe's birth.
Written by Monroe's then-husband Arthur Miller, The Misfits is a touching and off-beat drama that follows newly divorced Roslyn (Monroe) and the relationships she forms with an aging cowboy and a rodeo-rocked bull rider.
Played by Clark Gable and Montgomery Clift respectively, both mens' hearts are filled with bittersweet memories of a west that’s no longer wild. But when Roslyn comes to town, maybe the three of them can create an unconventional home and business together, despite their sombre circumstances.
Infused with the promises of what could have been if she had been given more time to explore her skills as a dramatic performer, Marilyn Monroe delivers one of her very best performances.
