Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela’s (Olivia Wilde) marriage is on thin ice. With their daughter away at a sleepover, they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbours (Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz) for a dinner party.
Once the neighbours arrive, the night spirals into unexpected places, with Angela valiantly attempting to steer the conversation in safer and more pleasant directions. The guests, however, are all too happy to frankly discuss their intimate lives - including sex - suggesting that Joe and Angela might benefit from a similarly liberated approach to carnal pleasures. Maybe they could even begin to do so tonight?
