From a raging wildfire to the vision of an owl, from a river to distant galaxies, SENTIENTS explores what it means to experience the world as something else.

Bringing together award-winning and brand-new works, Undershed’s latest exhibition of video games and virtual reality invites you to see through other eyes.

The exhibition was developed with a group of Young Curators from across Bristol and shaped by the themes, ideas and questions that mattered most to them.

Meet some of the Young Curators, alongside Scent creator Alan Kwan, at this informal gathering to celebrate the opening of this ambitious new exhibition and enjoy a sneak preview of the works on display.

This event includes access to the gallery and a guided tour of the exhibition. Due to the short timeframe, gameplay will not be available. You'll receive a discount code to book a return visit and experience the exhibition in full at a time slot of your choice.

    Access

    • Waterside 3 is a large flexible space for conferences and events on the first floor of the building
    • Watershed's main entrance (which leads to Undershed's entrance, just to the right of the Box Office desk) is on the ground floor and accessible via a ramped, electronically assisted entrance door.
    • The entrance to Undershed is ramped and you enter the exhibition space through a curtain. We have worked with access consultants to create environmental elements like signage, manoeuvrability and lighting which are appropriate for some visitors with access needs. Where these can be improved, please let us know.
    • There is seating available – a sofa in the welcome area, and seating in the main exhibition space.
    • Installations are designed to be as accessible as possible for wheelchair users.
    • You are very welcome to wear a mask but we’re unable to guarantee that other visitors or staff will be wearing them too.
