In Jerusalem, Kamal, a 60-year-old Palestinian man, is ordered by an Israeli court to pay a huge social security debt owed by his son Wael, who drowned in the Red Sea more than twenty years ago. Or so he was told. When no official record of Wael's death can be found, Kamal follows the only lead he has left, determined to discover what really happened.

Starring Volpi Cup-winning actor Kamel El Basha (The Insult) and Amer Hlehel, and rooted in the everyday lives of ordinary Palestinians in Jerusalem, Muayad Alayan's latest film had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and is an official selection of Toronto 2026.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Muayad Alayan (via Zoom) and producer Abeer Salman.
