Get in gear for an evening of classic anime, music, graffiti, 80s computer games and Japanese food and drink - for one night only experience definitive anime masterpiece Akira (the subtitled version) on the big screen followed by a free Akira-inspired party and DJ set.

31 years after World War III, Neo-Tokyo is beset with terrorists, revolutionaries, the army and the government. Lurking somewhere within this urban war zone, a strange messianic child called Akira might cause the end of the world - and only a gang of delinquent, cyberpunk bikers can attempt to stop him. Stuffed full of gob smacking details and apocalyptic ultra violence, it's a towering achievement of animation, one that is singlehandedly credited with bringing anime to the attention of the world outside Japan. Its colossal scale and sheer exhausting scope can only really be appreciated one way - in the cinema, on the big screen.

After the film join us for a party from 22:30 til late in the Café/Bar, which will be transformed into a sci-fi inspired Neo Tokyo city scape including a Retro 80s games arcade, a graffiti wall where we ask the audience and some local artists to imagine their future, and cosplay - wear your best manga outfits!
