In animation it takes a considerable amount of skill and practice to design characters and environments and perform them well both technically and artistically. It takes a completely different level of talent to write good comedy. Some of the best animation comedy is non-verbal and the gag and humour is relayed through image/performance and sound alone. So how is this done specifically for animation?
Encounters is delighted to welcome a panel of the finest screenwriters and (writing) Directors in the business; Rob Sprackling and Johnny Smith (Gnomeo & Juliet, Mike Bassett: England Manager, Dennis and Gnasher... amongst others), Mark Burton (Chicken Run, Madagascar, Curse of the Were-rabbit, Shaun the Sheep) and Darren Walsh (Angry Kid, the Meerkat and Sony Bravia ads and many more).
