Shextreme Opening Night Party

Shextreme Film Festival 2019

Event

Please note: This event took place in Oct 2019

Enjoy that fun Friday feeling at Shextreme's Opening Night party from Eight till late in the bar showcasing local Bristol talent Kim Piffy and Libby Parfitt. Before your very eyes, the festival’s Artists-in-Residence will be creating live adventure art responding to the festival’s theme: Women in adventure’s mental wellbeing.

Look out too for female-led DJ sets including local legend D.J. Emily Teague. Music supported by powerful portable speaker system Minirigs (proudly made in Bristol).

You'll have the chance as well to explore an exhibition of adventure photography celebrating active women behind the camera - stunning images featuring female athletes trail running, climbing and mountain biking. The photographs on display are all selected from Shextreme’s successful Adventure Photography Workshops, which this year trained up more women behind the lens in both the Forest of Dean and Chamonix in the French Alps. The exhibition also features the winner of this year’s Shextreme Adventure Photography Competition. Come and marvel at Madlaina Walther’s stunning winning photograph entitled Summer Evening set in the Swiss Alps.

Finally, brand new this year, check out the Shextreme Concept Store supporting badass, boss ladies who are running awesome female-led adventure companies including SHREDLY, Peak Jewellery and Ride it Rad.

Entry to the opening night party is free. Drop in anytime after 20:00 for a fun creative celebration of women in adventure!
