Joanna Quinn: Desert Island Flicks

Joanna Quinn presents a programme of films which have inspired and intrigued in an on stage interview with Helen Brunsdon, Broadcast Manager and Head of Short Form Content at Aardman Animation.

British animator Joanna Quinn is a highly acclaimed and major figure in animation and she’s regarded as one of the most celebrated figures in World Animation. Her amazing drawing skills, her wonderful characterisations and her humour, mark her out as a truly unique talent.

Joanna has won just about every major animation award that there is including Emmys, Baftas, and over 90 Jury prizes at major animation Festivals. Her films have received two Oscar® nominations - one for Famous Fred in 1998 and the other for The Wife of Bath in 1999. She’s been honoured with retrospectives of her work in Rome, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Stuttgart, Zagreb, Hiroshima, Toronto, Montreal, Gothenburg, Bradford, Cordoba, Tampere, Ottawa and Taiwan.

She is an Honoury Fellow and Doctor at three UK Universities and she has lectured at the most prestigious Universities and Film Schools in Britain and abroad, including the Royal College of Art and the National Film and Television School.
