Programme revealed for the 70th BFI London Film Festival (LFF) – plus how you can get your early bird tickets.
The 70th BFI London Film Festival (LFF) is coming to Watershed from Wed 7 – Mon 19 Oct, giving Bristol and South West audiences the chance to discover the world’s best new films on the big screen.
As a venue partner, Watershed is delighted to be presenting 14 previews from the Festival line-up – our biggest year yet.
This year you can be amongst the first to see new films from Eleanor Coppola, Martin McDonagh, Boots Riley, Danny Boyle, Lee Chang-dong, Cristian Mungiu and more.
Priority booking for the previews at Watershed will be open for Club Shed members from 10:00 on Tue 15 Sept to 09:59 on Thu 17 Sept. Club Shed members also get their usual 15% off all tickets. General booking will then open at 10:00 on Thu 17 Sept.
Club Shed members, and those signed up to our Coming Soon list, will hear about tickets first via email from 10:00 on Tue 15 Sept. Remember if you are on the Coming Soon list you will only be able to book if you are a Club Shed member.
Steph Read, Cinema Programmer for Watershed, says:
"LFF on Tour is always a real highlight of the cinema calendar each year, and we’re very much looking forward to partnering with the festival to once again bring a selection of highlights to the South West.
“There’ll be previews of some of the hottest features fresh from the awards circuit and their London premieres, including a handful of my highlights from Cannes this year – Paweł Pawlikowski’s incisive drama Fatherland; Jordan Firstman’s bold, beautiful debut Club Kid; and ambitious historical queer epic La Bola Negra, which reimagines an unfinished work from Lorca.
“There’s some long-awaited returns too – with Boots Riley’s riotous ride I Love Boosters following up his 2018 hit Sorry to Bother You, and a new feature from Lee Chang-dong, who follows up 2019’s Burning with a delicately interwoven relationship drama in Possible Love.”
