Yes, it’s finally here! After a two year hold due to the pandemic, building works will kick-off in July to bring us the shiny new toilets we’ve been waiting for. Visitors, customers, audiences and staff can look forward to a more welcoming, inviting toilet provision that will have something for everyone.

Our current toilet provision AND this planned new project will feature the following options in separate locations across the building:

• gender neutral toilets with fully enclosed cubicles and sinks
• toilets for men
• toilets for women
• wheelchair accessible toilets
• toilets with grab rails 
• a baby changing room with a toilet and sink

What’s it going to look like in the building?

We will be looking a bit different over the summer  - from the week beginning Mon 11 July there will be a temporary hoarding (wooden fencing) going up at Box Office on the ground floor and in the top foyer to cover up the area where the building work will take place and to try and keep the noise and dust to a minimum. During that first week we will be putting information and signage on the hoardings to help everyone navigate their way around the building work and to let you know exactly what is going on.

The Box Office will relocate to a new temporary welcome desk still on the ground floor and the team will be on hand as always to welcome you into the building and see to all of your needs.

We will be posting updates and pictures from the build on the website over the summer to keep you updated on our progress. So watch this space!

I'm sure some of you can still remember that we remained open throughout our last building programme (when we built Cinema 3) and you didn't let a bit of dust and noise put you off then so I am confident we will get through this summer with your support. This building work to improve our toilet provision is long overdue and very needed and we are so grateful for your support. We're so excited to open our new, welcoming, fit-for-purpose toilet facilities at the end of September and in the meantime whatever time you visit us, you can be sure of business as usual.

Box Office will be operating from a temporary welcome desk in the downstairs foyer.

Box Office opening times will remain as usual:

Mon: 17:00 until 15 minutes after the last screening starts
Tue to Sun: 12:00 until 15 minutes after the last screening starts

Mon 11 July – end of Sept (date TBC)

The toilets in the top foyer will be closed for refurbishments, and will re-open at the end of September.
