Watershed’s Clare Reddington wins at the South West Leadership Awards

The winners of TheBusinessDesk.com’s South West Leadership Awards were announced at a gala dinner last night and our very own Clare Reddington CEO of Watershed collected the Public and Third Sector Leadership Award.
The South West Leadership Awards were created by TheBusinessDesk.com to champion the achievements and success of the leading business individuals across the region and we are so pleased that Clare has been recognised for her leadership.
Clare has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Watershed since 2018, bringing a collaborative, hopeful and values-driven approach to her leadership - actively engaging with issues like equity and access, climate justice and driving meaningful change in the sector..
It was for these reasons that the Watershed team nominated Clare for this award, alongside her unwavering commitment to innovation and community engagement - from leading the organisation through the pandemic, to delivering award-winning public toilets for everyone, supporting the trans community through challenging times, and asking questions about what is the responsibility of cultural organisations to speak up about critical issues in troubled times
Though all this Clare strongly believes that in collaboration comes solidarity, and even in tough times we must try to centre hope.
It hasn’t always been easy – she has been called ‘terrifying’, ‘a tofu munching art clown’, been trolled on social media and has been reminded by a man that she is ‘not running a nuclear power station’ – but Clare believes in the importance of what Watershed does and is incredibly proud of what we have achieved together with our partners, funders, audiences and supporters. And we are incredibly proud of Clare.
