Throughout June and July at WatershedThis year marks the centenary of film composer Bernard Herrmann's birth in June 1911.Herrmann changed the way film music was thought of with groundbreaking scores for films like Hitchcock's Psycho and North By Northwest. His career spanned creative collaborations with Orson Welles on Citizen Kane to Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.
New Grundtvig Workshops for Older Learners

Both workshops are designed to ensure participants increase skills and confidence gradually and discover how new technologies can add value to their everyday lives. Participants will also be encouraged to share personal memories and experiences throughout the creation process to inspire a dialogue across different European countries.
Bristol Filmmakers Win First Light Award

Watershed is delighted that some of our young filmmakers who produced a five-minute docu-drama The Box have been nominated for a First Light Award in the 'Best Film by Over 13s' category. The winning films will be announced on 15 March in a prestigious awards ceremony at The Odeon Leicester Square which some of the young people will attend.

The International Film Festival Berlin, also called the Berlinale, is one of the largest publicly attended events in the film world. Founded in 1951, the 2011 festival is the 61st instalment of this annual event, which shows around 400 films each year. The majority of these are European premieres, and vary in genre, length and format.
