Revolutionaries Never Die
classified 18Subtitled screening
In 2018, the pioneering Lebanese filmmaker Jocelyne Saab invited archivist and filmmaker Mohanad Yaqubi to make a film together. She died two months later, before he could reply. Revolutionaries Never Die is his answer: a lyrical conversation across time, stitched from fragments of Saab's own archive, in which her voice guides us through the 1970s, the Palestinian revolution and the war in Lebanon.
Part portrait, part letter that can never be delivered, it celebrates an independent Arab woman filmmaker who spent her life documenting people and places that no longer exist, and asks what the past can still teach us.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A. More details to follow.
